Danger!! please HELP! My son who works for a major trucking Co.?
My dear son who works for a large N.E. coast Fast food restaurant supplier, He has two regular runs weekly,,with time enough between deliveries =,,”Shutdowns” To be Safe and alert,,
This Wednesday due to the Firing of another driver, he was told to take the that mans run,,an Over nighter too NYC,,he left Wed. night around 10:30 PM EST.
He arrived after this run to our home at about 6:35 PM EST Friday and has to go back out at 1:30 AM Saturday EST,,He went to bed as soon as he had a shower and Supper,,about 7:00 PM EST Friday evening. He will be Fired if he refuses to Not take this run as required by this trucking Co.
I love My son and am Afraid for his life,,and those who have set these kind of stupid Rules of the road,,
CAN YOU HELP ??
,,I just need some ”HONEST HELP” thank you!
You Can Rot in Hell Bitch,,,
This is no Union,,, Non Union Tripe,,,
Actually I have a CDL and drove over the rode for a few years. I know especially in the North East they have a terrible time finding enough truck drivers so they claim they will fire someone to make a run, even though the federal law states that it is illegal to drive more than 11 hours without a 10 hour break. The only exceptions to that rule is for oil truck drivers, national emergencies and disasters. All you have to do is contact the DOT (Department of Transportation) in the area where his work is located and tell them that you know of a serious DOT violation, they will want the companies name. They will also want to know how you know. In most cases they will keep you annonymous along with your son. What you are speaking of is not only dangerous but highly illegal. If your son is driving and he is not following those laws he can get some big fines, Worse yet if he gets into an accident while not following those laws and someone dies due to that accident, he can be charged with first degree murder. So, if I were you, I would not wait until tomorrow to make that call, the DOT will go and investigate quickly. They will also stop all of the trucks they have when they roll into any of the nations weigh stations and check everyones log books and milage. That will mean your son will be stopped when he pulls into one as well. It also means if they look as his bill of lading, which are time stamped due to 2007 federal regulations and compare it to his log book. If he has log book violations he can be fined. But better fined than dead, or responsable for killing someone.
