Timing belt different for SOHC and DOHC?
Hi I have a 2004 hyundai accent. Im planning on changing the timing belt sometime soon here (The previous owners never had a service record of it, so I figured if me and my father can do it then we might as well to be safe)
However every listing at all the stores ive been to to get the belt only have one engine selection:
1.6 L with SOHC….
However mine has dual overhead cams. I bought the timing belt, but do you think it will work for my car? I think it should be longer because it has to go around both…
suggestions? thanks!
I also called the dealer, and he said he just had the one listing for a 2004 accent. What is wrong with this random car lol!
There is only one engine offered for this model in the US market, a 1.6 DOHC 4. It’s possible that some of the store catalogs just list it incorrectly. You probably have the right belt. It should have 105 teeth I think.
