2007-2008 Jeep Wrangler Sahara Unlimited 4×4?
I am looking at getting a new Jeep Wrangler Sahara Unlimited 4×4 with the 4 doors for my family. She’s looking for a fun smaller SUV that she feels higher and safe driving on snow covered roads and will be able to haul our two kids (3 & 6). We test drove a few wranglers other day: 4 spd auto & 6 speed manual. The wife and I like the manual. However, we are also going to look at the Honda CR-V, Toyota Rav-4, Mitsubishi Outlander XLS & Hyundai Santa Fe are on our list of SUV’s.
We realize the Wrangler is in a totally different type of 4×4 category to the ones listed above. However, the Wrangler has the fun factor, only 4door convertible as well lifetime powertrain warranty.
Questions:
1) What kind of fuel economy have owners been seeing with the 3:73 rear end?
2) Has Jeep solved the issue of the leaky hard top roof?
3) If you have kids how do they like the rear seats for long drives?
4) Any other annoying issues arise from owners?
5) Do Wranglers have decent resale?
Fuel economy is around 18mpg on the highway. The roof seal has been replaced with a better seal, but I would have the dealer check the roof for leaks. The rear seats are not comfy on long rides. The Wrangler has great resale,I just sold a 2001 for almost $10,000 but it was in mint condition. If you maintain it you will be able to get a very good resale price.
