2008 Safest Vehicles
I need some advice on cars… pretty please?
My husband and I are looking into buying our first car together. I’ve really had my heart set on a 2008/2009 Chevy Equinox… But the problem is I don’t know much about cars at all lol. Will a Chevy Equinox be a safe, reliable vehicle for our family? Or would you suggest something else? Specifics would be awesome. Thanks!!
Yes. Equinox has a very good reliability in terms of its robustness/safety (maybe not best in class, but definitely not anywhere near the bottom.
The main thing that hurt the 1st generation Equinox was the interior styling/quality. This was back when GM didn’t do very inspiring interiors. They were merely good enough. But overall, Equinox is a very good vehicle.
That said, the current generation Equinox (2010) is lightyears ahead of both the 1st gen Equinox and any of the competition on sale today. So if you could, I’d recommend going for the 2010 Equinox. Otherwise, I think you’ll be happy with the Equinox, I have several friends who have 1st gen Equinox’s, and they haven’t really any major complaints beyond the interior styling.
