Mazda 3 GT Hatchback(Loaded) or 2011 Hyundai Sonata Limited (No Nav)?
So, the price quotes between these cars are less than 400 dollars. The Mazda 3 GT will have everything loaded (Front adaptive Lighting, rain-sensing windshield wipers, nav, remote start, etc.) and the Hyundai will just be the limited with no extras.
As far as I can tell, the only advantage the Mazda has is all the cool tech stuff. Although the Hyundai lacks the tech stuff, it’s better on gas (believe it or not!), higher top speed, and larger (so, safer). I think it might have HD radio and heated back seats, but that’s not important.
My questions are which one would you buy? Which one drives better? Which one is better quality? Thanks y’all~!
way different cars. so much will depend on what you WANT
the Mazda 3 GT Hatch will try to get you with the “sporty” handling and “downmarket BMW” image. its a nice car that fully loaded has nice features. but they may be features you don’t care much about? expect good handling and decent performance, but at the sacrifice of ride quality and comfort. build quality and quality of materials are top notch in the mainstream class. this is a compact car
the Sonata Limited is a mid size car that has the interior volume of a full size car. big trunk, roomy, comfortable interior for all, smooth, quiet ride. the gas mileage estimates for this car are optimistic, so don’t let that be a factor. build quality is good, loaded with features, its a big sedan that will drive and ride very differently then the Mazda, and will give you a different day to day experience when compared with the Mazda. interior materials are above average for the class, and its very competitive in its segment. this car competes with the Accord, Camry’s, and Legacy’s of the world. And the Mazda6. The Mazda3 competes with the Civics, Corolla’s, WRX’s, and to some extent the Jetta’s of the world. so, two different kind of cars with two different missions
the Hyundai has a HUGE warranty, of course. especially if you drive 15,000m or less a year. a drawback? they say the engine sound is loud and somewhat unrefined under hard acceleration for its class, but you would have to be the judge of that
both are good cars imo. very different. both are good choices and should offer decent resale value. do you WANT a small, sporty, and cool hatch…or big, stylish, comfortable, and somewhat mature sedan?
its up to you. personally, i would opt for the bigger car as i value comfort atm over sporty handing or w/e. if i want small and sporty, i’d buy a coupe of some kind or premium sports sedan where i wouldn’t have to move my seat up for someone to sit behind me. in the Sonata i would never have to do that. or be concerned about the comfort of my passengers
