I have a question about the 2011 Honda Cr-z?
I know the new 2011 Honda Cr-z has really bad crash ratings, like 3 stars on the drivers door and 2 stars on the passenger. Does anybody know if it is a possibility that Honda will come out with a safer one within this year? I will be a new driver this summer and am interested in this car but it isn’t safe enough. Thanks 
To the other poster: she is actually right, according to NHTSA ratings.
The NHTSA revised its side impact evaluation methods for the 2011 model year, and they have become much more strict. By 2010 standards, both the driver and passenger ratings would probably be increased by 1 or even 2 stars. Many cars suffered from this revamped rating system.
Since the CR-Z is all new for 2011, there is almost zero chance that Honda will release the 2012 model with any significant changes. Granted, it’s probably not a death trap, but if you are extremely concerned about safety, then you may want to look elsewhere. But keep in mind that subcompact cars like the CR-Z are probably not as safe as a bigger car.
