2011 Safest Crossovers
2011 Safest Crossovers

Is the 2011 Dodge Durango a good Crossover SUV?
I am looking at 2011 Dodge Durango’s, and I want to know if they are safe, and reliable, I don’t really know what Dodges are known for (such as problems, reliability)?
No.
I’m not sure where you live, but around here the department of highways publishes the statistics of crashes and over 70% involve SUVs with four wheel drive.
Dodge is the worst automaker in terms of quality and value today.
If you have your heart set on a crossover SUV, get a Honda Pilot, Mazda CX-9, Hyundai Veracruz, Toyota Highlander, Ford Flex, GMC Acadia, or practically anything else other than this poorly built, quickly depreciating, gas guzzling dinosaur.

Oak Park Corolla Dealers Have a Number of ‘Top Safety Pick’ Vehicles
A number of qualities are taken into consideration for those who are on the market for a new car, and safety is usually one of them. Sure remote start technology and dual-zone climate control are alluring, but they won’t protect you and your passengers in the event of a collision. And yes, features that can massage your back and create multiple environments evoke a sense of wonderment, but they won’t prevent you from drifting into another lane or apply additional brake pressure to avoid a potential accident.
Of the dizzying array of unnecessary gizmos and options, safety remains one of the most important qualities to consider. To help car shoppers identify the safest cars on the market, the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety (IIHS) conducts the ‘Top Safety Picks’ awards which rates a vehicle’s ability to protect its passengers in a crash. This year the Toyota brand dominated the awards with eight Toyota, Lexus and Scion vehicles available at your Oak Park Toyota dealership earning the coveted recognition.
The IIHS rates vehicles as good, acceptable, marginal or poor based on performance in high speed front and side crash tests, a rollover test and a rear impact crash test. In order for a vehicle to be deemed a ‘Top Safety Pick’ award winner, vehicles must receive a rating of good in all four crash tests. Despite the revised crash tests for 2011 which evaluate vehicles on a stricter grading system, five Toyota models at your Oak Park Corolla dealer won the award.
Chicago residents can be assured of their safety when opting for the Avalon, Corolla, Highlander, Sienna and Venza, all worthy of a ‘Top Safety Pick’ designation. In addition to coming equipped with electronic stability control, a requirement for a ‘Top Safety Pick’ award, the Toyota winners are integrated with traction control, an anti-lock brake system with electronic brakeforce distribution and brake assist, driver and front passenger seat mounted side airbags, front and rear side curtain airbags and even a driver’s knee airbag.
Plenty of optional safety features are available on models at your Oak Park Toyota dealership including a rear backup camera, a feature so important that it is rumored to be a requirement in all new cars by 2014. An available lighting package that comes with high intensity discharge headlamps and an automatic high beam feature improve night vision by increasing brightness by 300%.
Additional cutting edge safety technology is integrated into a number of vehicles at your Oak Park Corolla dealer. Whether on the market for a truck, SUV, sedan or crossover, Chicago residents are sure to be safe when they opt for a Toyota.
