Information about Antique Pie Safes…?
I was wondering if anyone out there could direct me to a site that has information about antique pie safes…how much they are worth, etc. I am trying to find out how old mine is, and how much it is worth ( it has a fainted plate on the back that says Broadway i believe)—-painted or unpainted. I can’t find very many sites, or if anyone has any information on if antique ones are actually “rare”, worth very much, the best way to restore or not to restore it, etc, that would be GREAT!@ Thanks in advance
Go to the library and check out an antique american and or English Furniture book.
There isin’t a whole lot specific to that kind of furniture/kitchenware online.

They are worth a few hundred to a few thousand dollars depending on the place of origin and the maker. Penn Dutch are really valuable, some english and some american are either or depending on age, wood, metal used and decoration.
Try www.Kovels.com. They have information on a few… All of the Pie Safes featured in there are over $10,000.00 You may just have a treasure? You never know!

Ebay will only provide you with current bids… As in what people are asking and currently willing to pay which doesn’t always reflect what something is actually worth at auction… Especially items that large that people are not willing to pay the shipping for. That would make for very few bids and not an acurate reflection of actual value.
