Beverly Hills Safest
Where is a good place to stay for a Southern California vacation?
traveling for a week from Iowa, want to see all of the main attractions of Southern California such as the beach (suggestions please?), Hollywood, Beverly Hills, Staples Center, Disneyland, etc. Where would be a good central and safe location to stay that would be convenient to most of these destinations? Also if you have any tips or ideas on visiting that area please let me know!

There’s a lot to see and do in SoCal, and the previous person gave so much good information, but it could get overwhelming. Are you traveling with kids? Elderly? Would you prefer to spend the whole week in one area, one hotel, or would you want to hop around a bit?
If it’s one area, I’d stay close to Disneyland. There are hundreds of hotels, and the prices are competitive. Staying closer to L.A. is more expensive. Disneyland area is farther away from beaches and Beverly Hills, but that’s what the jam packed with traffic freeways are for! I hope you’re bringing a car, because you’ll need it here.
Definitely do Disneyland for at least a day. If you want a good beach experience, I’d head out to Huntington Beach from there, or up to Santa Monica, and that’s another day. Beverly Hills/Hollywood will be another fun day, and you may find yourself worn out, that’s a lot of travel!
What are you wanting to see at the Staples Center?
I wouldn’t waste the time or money on Universal Studios, unless you really really love the movies, or have kids with you who love the movies. I personally find it not worth it.
