Car Stash Safes
Is it wrong to stash money?

Me and my husband have a REALLY hard time saving. I have really learn to cut down to just what I need. He is on the other hand is still spending unnecessary money. I have started taking 100-200 on each of my paychecks and just stashing it in a safe place at my house. He knows about it, and our bills are getting paid and we still have enough to get by. I am just so tired of debt and bills. We have been married for two years and we don’t have a house, kids, or really any thing to show for the money we have made. The last three years have been good to us, I just can’t see anywhere useful we could have used the money. Like I said we both have bad spending habits. I just think this way, maybe it can help him stop. I plan on splitting the stashed money in a few months to pay off debt. (I really want to pay of his car) Is this wrong, if he knows about it?

A stash of money is always good. As my grandma always says…everyone should have some “kiss my butt” money hiding. However, if your spouse knows about it, I don’t see a problem. You are hiding it to pay your bills, whatever works!! You have to do whatever it takes to make sure your bills get paid!! Good luck!

Are you guilty of unsafe driving?

The average American spends a quarter of all the fuel consumed in the U.S on driving every year. It’s evident that most of us can’t live a comfortable life without our cars.  Yet the fundamental question strikes again since the dawn of cars in 1885. How safe is a car? Most car manufactures today, advertise and market on the most techonologically advanced features to pursuade consumers into choosing their brand, but external precautions and features can only go so far.

The real key to safe driving is not the brand or the number of airbags in the car, It is YOU, the driver.

As a young drive myself, I have witnessed all kind of horrifying things people do when they are behind the wheel. For example, putting on eye liner, eating a burger, texting, reaching into the glove compartment for their stashed EZ pass case or GPS device. If only there was some way to reduce the number of distractions on the road.

Tips on how to stay safe behind the wheel:

  1. Do not drink and drive, have a designated driver when going out to parties.
  2. Minimize distractions from your phone by turning it to silent or purchase a earpiece.
  3. Texting can wait!
  4. Put on makeup before you leave the house
  5. Mount your EZ pass with a EZ pass cover/mount and your GPS on the dashboard or on the windshield before you leave.

Transportation agencies and driving school should join forces to educate drivers on safe driving techniques to minimize injuries and accident rate on the road.
