Is a ’66 Mustang Coupe worth $1000 in this condition?
I found a Mustang i like but i dont know if it is a deal or a waste of cash. It has all the glass, the regulators, “X-frames” door latches, lock rods, front and rear seats, 1/4 trims, and some other miscelaneous stuff. I doesnt have any wiring except the dash harness.It also needs a fuel fank and the line from the tank to the engine.The engine did run but hasn’t for quite some time, it needs some work( I dont know what work, im looking at it this weekend) It also has the full length floor pans, seat platforms, trunk drop offs, and 1 cowl panel. It has a 289 V-8 with c4 transmission. The body and frame are straight rust/dent free. Are these Mustangs reliable, safe, and do they increase in value? The real question you need to ask is where do you want to go with this and how much more do you want to spend? I virtually rebuilt my ’71 off ebay over a period of years. Buying all new stuff will put a healthy dent in your savings. You will be spending more time working on this than dating…
Getting this car is more a journey than a quick “get it running” as you need to learn a whole lot more about this. You need to finish the painting, then install the headliner, then install the glass. You need to make sure the cowl doesn’t leak BEFORE you paint.
