How could I send baked goods across the country?
I’m making a very large batch of mini whoopie pies and would like to send some to loved ones on the other side of the country, but I have no idea how to ship them and keep them fresh and safe to eat. Is there any way I can do so?
Sure you can do it. First check with the US Mail, but people have mailed all kinds of cakes and pies through the US Mail. People in the past have even mailed home baked goods to military service men and women overseas. So if they can do it, I am sure you can too.
I would suggest looking into some small boxes where you can tightly pack the goods in indivdual boxes. Use plenty of stuffing in the bigger box. Running paper through a paper shredder makes perfect confetti stuffing for packing materials. You will need to make sure the pies get there in good time and tell the recipients they need to eat it soon, or the pies might go stale.
Check with the US Post Office to find out what the best way may be able to ship the goods safely and in tact.
