Where to Buy Lululemons Online: is it Safe?
Most people, who are avid fans of Lululemon, have noticed that Lululemon does not have an official online clothing store. This is really a problem for people who do not live close to a Lululemon store. Although Lululemon is growing internationally, the majority of its stores are still located in large Canadian centers. So what can you do if you would like to purchase Lululemons online? There are three popular ways to buy new or used Lululemons online (i) eBay, (ii) Craigslist, (iii) Kijiji.
First, let’s discuss the benefits of eBay. In my opinion this is the best and safest way to purchase Lululemons online. The reason behind this is you can find great deals on eBay that save you a lot of money on your purchase. Also eBay is relatively safe, if you use the right precautions. Because of the bidding structure of eBay most of the time you can purchase Lululemons a lot cheaper then in the store. One thing you need to be careful of is the shipping cost, always take this into account when bidding on items on eBay. Depending on the seller, the shipping cost will vary from auction to auction, so make sure you look at this shipping cost for every item before you bid on it.
What most of you are probably wondering about is eBay actually safe. The answer for the most part is eBay is safe, but you do need to be careful. As their are over 100 million eBay shoppers, eBay has put in place systems to prevent any fraudulent activities, to ensure you get what you paid for. One of the systems is the recommended eBay payment system PayPal, which is the safest way for paying for goods online. The reason that PayPal is so safe is partly because it is owned by eBay. Essentially how PayPal works is that you give them you personal information, including bank and credit card information through a secure website, and they facilitate the payment from you (the buyer) to the seller. Rest assured because PayPal will never give any of this information to anyone and the information is saved in a highly secured database. In specifics, after you win an auction you (the buyer) then login to PayPal to pay for item, PayPal then transfers the money to the seller. In the event anything goes wrong, you can contact PayPal to get your money back.
One very important point is that you should never give your credit card information to a seller unless they have a secure website and you feel comfortable with the process. If you are unsure if a particular website is secure, it is best that you just use PayPal. Also never send the money via a money order company. The reason for this is you do not actually know where you are sending the money to, and if anything goes wrong it is extremely hard to trace your payment to get your money back.
Another safety precaution before bidding for an item on eBay is look at the sellers information such as their feedback. This will tell you all about what other buyers that have purchased from this seller have to say. You can see what kind of products they have sold in the past and where they are located. At the time of writing this article I have not see any Lululemon items being sold outside of North America. However, if in the future there are Lululemons being sold outside of North America, I would not recommend purchasing these items as there is a chance that they could be knock-offs.
Before discussing Craigslist and Kijiji, I want to stress that always be sure about what you are paying for. Don’t be afraid to ask the seller any additional questions about the item or if you want to see a different picture of the item, just ask.
Finally, as Craigslist and Kijiji are very similar I will discuss them together. Craigslist and Kijiji are online classified ads websites that allows people to list items that they have for sale. There are basically two scenarios when it comes to buying from classified ads websites. First the item is being sold locally so you can pay cash for the item when you go to pick it up. Second, is that the item is being sold non-locally, and the seller will mail it to you after they receive your payment. I personally only recommend using Craigslist and Kijiji for local pick as it is reasonably safe. This is because you get to see the product before you pay the seller. You know exactly what you are getting. If for some reason when you go to pick up the item and it is not exactly what you agreed to purchase you can always change your mind.
If you do decide to purchase an item non-locally (I do not personally recommend this option as it is not very safe), there are a few things you need to know. Do not give your credit card information to the seller and do not send the money via money order. Only use PayPal, because, if something goes wrong, there is change you might be able to get your money back. There are a lot of scammers on sites like Craigslist and Kijiji, so you need to be extra cautious when using this option, the principle of Buyer Beware really applies in this case. If something appears too good to be true, that’s because it is, as it is clearly a scam.
I really recommend using eBay for purchasing new or used Lululemon products online. It really is the best option in terms of safety and there are lots of bargains too. However, it’s worth mentioning that if you do not find these three alternatives attractive you can also place a phone order through Guest Education Center (more information about this can be found on the official Lululemon website).
