I want a moped, who can tell me about them?
I live in North Dakota, so I’ll need to wait until spring to drive it. But can i buy a good one on ebay do you think? DO they sell mopeds at car dealers? Where do you buy one? Are they safe? Are they fun? I want a retro one, like a vespa. And i have like a 1000 dollar budget 
So used is just fine. Any models you suggest? I don’t really care how fast it goes, just so it can bring me and maybe a friend around town and to school. Ahh! I’m so excited.
First, you need to know what you are talking about. A “MOPED”, also known as a “Motorized Pedal Bicycle” or “Motorized bicycle” means a vehicle equipped with two or three wheels… maximum of two brake horsepower … maximum piston 49.98cc… speed not to exceed 30mph…
Do you want a wussy moped, that cannot go 30 mph, that cannot be fast enough to be safe? Or do you want a Vespa (Proper Name, from the Italian Manufacturer, Piaggio) or similar vehicle that is a “motor scooter” — which is actually a motorcycle.
If you want a decent scooter (legally a motorcycle) you will have to get a motorcycle driver’s licence — the government says the same for a 49cc scooter as a larger motorcycle so you might as well get a scooter that is fast enough to keep up with traffic… a 80cc to 150cc.
As to the WWW — please don’t. The cheap motorcycle/scooter/moped will be made from China, will have warranty, and mostly will NOT be reliable. You want something that will get you home.
Finding one? I don’t know. I live with over a million people within 20 miles of me. There are less in all of North Dakota. You will probably get one in Minnesota.
