Will cold Tempatures damage a 60′ plasma tv?
ok so this boxing day I want to get a 60′ plasma tv but I have 2 problems. 1 I live 2 hours away from where I want to get the tv and I really want to ty and avoid shipping charges. So I wanted to put the tv in the back of my truck. Cover it with tarp and strap it down. but here is problem 2…. It is to be safe lets say -20 C outside so would this 2 hour trip damage the plasma tv? Because I know that the delivery trucks are not heated in the back. And I also read that before using the tv after they deliver it, to let it sit for 2 hours to reach room Temperature.
So what does everyone think? Would the plasma tv be ok if I covered it with tarp straped it down and was in the cold for 2 hours?
Anything below -2 could damage it if it got inside the electrics, like if you were to blow cold air into it. And below -10 could damage the visual. But put it in a plastic bag such as a bin bag, and tie it up. Then strap it down. And drive for two hours, It will be fine if covered by a bin bag or two.
