I am looking to make a pine kitchen table. Any suggestions on a strong, safe finish to seal it with?
I really would like to find a finish that is durable, long lasting, and safe. We have small children and picking up food dropped on the table is a daily event. Is there a good, safe finish for a kitchen table? I heard polyurethane was not safe for surfaces used for food prep.

Just do your research first as my mom’s pine coffee table has tons of dents in it! Be sure the wood you are selecting is a hard wood that is suitable to use for a kitchen table. Good luck!
