How to start a saltwater aquarium???!!!?
Im working on getting a star fish. I’d just like a list of all the supplies i absolutely HAVE TO HAVE! So far I have

Is there anything else that im missing?? Then what kind of tests do I need? I think a pH, alkalinity, and nitrate or something like that. Is there any other tests i should have?
And then what kind of invertebrates, or aquatic animals can i keep with a chocolate chip star fish?? I really wanted some anemone but chocolate chip starfish aren’t aren’t reef safe so I dint think i could have one.
You will need:
1.- New bucket or container for future water/salt mix
2.- Extra pump to mix the water/salt.
3.- Extra thermometer and heater ’cause water’s specific gravity is different when is colder than hot so you need to check ur water salinity when is between 78 to 80 degrees.
4.- If using tap water u will need api stress coat to remove chlorine & heavy metals from water, if u can reverse osmosis water is better RO water ur pet store can provide it for couple bucks .
5.-If u planing to have and anemone or some kinna corals you will need a t5 fixture (light).
About test for now u will need:
6.- Marine aquarium test kit ( PH, Ammonia, nitrite and nitrate)
7.- If u planning to have a reef tank u will need a reef test kit (Calcium, phosphate,carbonate hardness)
8.- You will also need either crush coral or live sand for the bottom part of ur tank
9.- A protein skimmer
10.-Power heads to create movement in ur water to provide oxygen as well as sea sensations for your fishes and corals
11.-Live rock at least one pound per gallon of water Example if u have a 10 gallon tank u will need at least 10 pounds of live rock for your water filtration.
12.- A timer for your lamp.
13.- A canister filter or a sump pump is the way to go for better results.
And the invertebrates as well as fishes will depend on your tank’s size chocolate chip star fish is a reef safe so no worrys
I will suggest you to buy a little book 4 beginners both marine life and corals so u will understand everything little by little,
