Why is it okay to have fat and obese police officers?
Why cant our local law enforcement have the same requirements the FBI has. If they did, our country would be a lot safer. I am SICK of seeing fat police officers. One cop pulled me over for speeding, lost his breath walking from his car to mine. Yeah that makes me feel real safe! Tell me why our government allows this to happen and why there are no physical requirements for police.
What does doctors and nurses have to do with overweight police officers. My knowledge comes from traveling in every major city in this country and seeing fat police officers on the streets everywhere. If the local law enforcement had the same requirements as the FBI does for their agents we would be a much safer country to live in. Simple as that.
i must say as a wife of a police officer, I tend to agree with the asker of this question. I do not like the way that the attitude comes with it. I do however agree: Let me explain; My husband is in a confrentation with a bad guy and he needs back up and the other officers cannot catch up with him due to his weight. I want my husband to be able to count on his fellow officers and they count on him (he is in great shape and a former Marine). No one that has run from him has gotten away. It bothers me that there are ones that may not be able to help my husband out if he needed it. For the most part the heavy set ones are paper pushers……they deliver court documents and such.
