Whats an alternative weapon to own besides a gun for protection?
I’d like to own some sort of weapon perhaps, just to feel safe (I feel so american saying that).
Anyways, I don’t want a gun cause we all know the story that goes with that, so what are some other choices? Be realistic, no laser guns, mase, land mines…maybe a crossbow, incase of a zombie invasion? What are your ideas?
Actually, no, we don’t “all know the story that goes with that”. If you truly want to stop screwing around with your protection, I’d recommend a gun. In most states, it’s not a hard process to get one, to train with, and to use responsibly.
Alternatives?
Taser. The projectile kind. Apparently Taser released a semi-automatic one http://www.taser.com/pages/default.aspx One of the few self-defense implements that just might be as effective.
I would not recommend a crossbow for most defense… I’d sooner recommend a bow and arrow… seriously. Takes too much time and muscle to load. By the time you get the experience to learn to load, and fire it at the insanely slow rate it does, you could have learned to use a semi-automatic firearm proficiently.
I would not recommend most pepper spray for indoor use.
I would not recommend a dog unless you were already considering getting one in the first place; dogs are big responsibilities.
