Another school killing in Orlando, FL this time. Do you think it is time the USA federal government imposed?

a federal law requiring all schools to have metal detectors installed in their schools? I mean this school didn’t have any real security in their school just some stupid deputy. And the school’s reason for not having metal detectors is cos it would make the school seem like a prison. HELLO! After the tragic shooting of Columbine in April 1999 our schools became less safe to walk into. It seems any nut can come into our schools now with an AK-47 or any other gun, or bombs and just start killing people. Face it the USA is not as safe as it was like 30 years ago. Who cares if the schools look like prisons. If that is what it takes to keep our children safe in schools then I think the USA federal government needs to impose tougher measures and enact a federal law in order to make our children safe in school.

the Fed has nothing to do with keeping our schools safe. This is really a non-issue because s hit happens. If someone really WANTS to get into a school and kill people, they will. (look at what happened to the Amish!)
What needs to happen is the students HOMES need to be safer: less hostile / more nurturing. Columbine happened because those kids parents were too concerned with climbing the corporate ladder and making big bucks than their sons’ emotional well-being. I got teased a lot in HS; was the most unpopular kid in my whole school actually. If my parents hadn’t stood up for me with the principal (who was content to let the bullies lock me in lockers, give me death threats, etc) I might have taken matters into my own hands.

Gun safety starts at home.

Biometric Gun Safe – Which is Best?

How can you find the best biometric gun safe? When looking for one, there are a number of things you want to consider.

First and foremost, obviously, is security. Ease of installation is critical, as some safes are harder to install than others.

The biometric gun safe is small, so that you can easily fit it into tight spaces. Try to find one that uses fingerprint sensors, as they will be able to tell when it’s your fingerprints opening it and will only open for them.

If anybody else waves their hand in front of it, they will get no response. Try to find one that recognizes the finger instantly, so you don’t have to wait a long time before you can get in there.

The Gunvault is one of the more respected brands out there to go with, and is the first one to be reviewed.

This one uses scanners to easily and quickly tell when it’s your fingerprints, so you don’t have to wait a long time. The percentage of times it will reject your fingers is very small.

It’s made of high quality steel, which prevents any thought of anybody else accessing it, and the inside of it is very well padded to keep the gun and anything else in pristine condition.

The fingerprint sensor will usually last for twelve full months with the nine volt battery it makes use of, although this number will obviously depend on how often you open it. Under normal use, however, it should last a year, and make sure you keep tabs on it.

The last thing you want is somebody breaking into your home and not being able to get it open. It includes a backup key to enable you to get to the gun or other storage items in the event of an emergency. Perhaps best of all, it’s just nine pounds, making it very easy to lug around.

The BIOBOX biometric gun safe is yet another one to think about. This particular model sells for two hundred and thirty dollars, a relative bargain when compared with other models.

Also, depending on the website you go with, you can get no cost ground shipping with it as well, obviously another nice feature.

It comes with a small design, and also fingerprint lock system, the most secure kind of lock you can get. It uses four double A batteries, and therefore allows you to open it more than one thousand times before they need changing.

Obviously, again, keeping track of their power is important.
The fingerprint access can also keep track of more than one person, so you can give access to more than just yourself, if you so choose.

Last and certainly not least, we have the BioVault 2.0 Biometric Gun Safe – BVSB1-B, which sells for three hundred and fifty dollars, a tad pricier than the previous one reviewed. With this one, you can store other things than just your handgun with no sweat at all.

It is able to keep track of as many as fifty different fingerprints, therefore giving access to many users, and of course, only you can determine who gets this.

Assuming you use it a standard amount, you can use three regular D batteries around one year, and if you use it more than usual, obviously you will need to replace it slightly sooner. It processes your finger and opens the vault in under a second, which is vital if your house is being threatened.

It’s very strong, and you know nobody is going to break into this one. It also receives a recommendation by the NRA, obviously a nice feather in its’ cap, and if you want the top of the line biometric gun safe, this is the one you should probably go with.
