I want to hike the appilation trail from Maine to Georgia,?
I’m correnting in college and when I graduate I will probably become an engineer. Heres the thing I want to take 6 months to do it and take off work. I will work for a year or 2 before I can do this that way i can save up some money, and also complete soem flight training becauee one day I DO want to become an airline pilot and im using engineering as seed money basket. Anyway I watch alot of survival shows and read some books so i have knowledge about how to surivive and what to bring. I will be doing this by myself for spiritual reasons. I kinnda wanna bring a gun too incase of survival situation or danger. I hear the AP is nice and it a safe place for hikers? Is this true? I would love to meet some girl on it and fall in love.
Success on the AT is not about survival skills or carrying a gun. If you want to have a chance at completing it, you need to get into hiking and backpacking and get some long hikes under your belt and start collecting the necessary gear. Then read some of the many books on the AT.
