Can you use a gun in your home for self defence: Northern Ireland?
now say you own a handgun(legal) and have it properly stored away and someone breaks into your home to steal stuff but in the process finds out your in the house and so is coming to kill or harm you, if you are able to open your gun safe in time are you allowed to use the gun in self defence.
This only applies to Northern Ireland since most guns are banned in the other parts of the UK and Ireland

I live in Northern Ireland just outside Londonderry. Handguns are legal but you have to become a member of a firearms club first for a year.
If you type in the northern ireland troubles in youtube you can see why.
As for home defence NO you can’t shoot anyone. If someone broke in to your house over here or anywhere in the Uk and get hurt they can sue the homeowner.
Guns are easy to get over here i have some and you just need a reason for having them.
What part of Ireland are you moving to.
