Portable Safe with “Touch Pads” made by GUNVAULT will not OPEN!?
I have a safe made by GUNVAULT,which will not open when I use
the touch pads,but the key works,I called GUNSAFE,which is now owned by new people,this particular safe they no lomger have parts for, and the TECH told me what the problem is, it’s the small motor,when you touch the touch pads with your code it releases the latch and the door open,theres a cable that attaches to the motor which broke,he said I could replace the cable to the motor,but he has now way of how to repair it, said I would have to use my imagination to secure the cable to the motor,is there anyone else who had this problem,if so how did you jerry rig it to
work again?I might have to replace the motor and cable ,it has a small eyeley attached to the cable which I can figure out , but i cannot figure out how to attach the cable to the motor stem,otherwis it’s only the key, Ihope someone had this problem before Thanks
You could take it to a local TV & Electronics Repair company and see if they can repair it for you? There are over a dozen shops listed in my area under “TV & Electronics Repair.” Couldn’t hurt to call around or visit a couple? http://yp.yahoo.com/py/
It really stinks that GunVault won’t stand behind their products, even if it has been bought out.
