Bear problem- we live right at the edge of civilization where they send problem bears. What gun should I buy?

We’re having a bear problem in the area, as we have a cabin right at the edge of civilization where they send the problem bears from around the state. There have been a few car break-ins, and tent break-ins in the area, and as of the last several weeks we have found bear Scat within feet of our home and cars. The nearest other houses are a few miles away. We are really in the middle of it, and we see the bears enough when we are out and about to know they are here.

Keep food properly contained to keep bears away from your cabin, keep your garbage away from your cabin, bears may be attracted to it. This question for a while made me wonder and to an extent wary of venturing into the unknown. At some point in my life I came to the decision that I wasn’t going to let my fears dictate my life style. Don’t get me wrong, I am not advocating being foolish with your decisions. I however found on a personal level that I wasn’t going to allow fear of the unknown rule my travel, leisure time or any type of activity I am interested in.
