Why do Checking Accounts NOT work?
I’m making more money now a days, and am a college student. However, I still don’t trust getting a checking account- mainly because all the banks I’ve looked into seem to all have hidden cons to them. Chase seems fine until you have to deal with Direct Deposit in order to have no monthly fees. I keep hearing Washington Mutual gives bad customer service despite free checks, and Bank of America is charging you hundreds of dollars if you mess up once. Why should I put my money in a bank when I will get ripped off with fees? Id rather cash my checks and keep the money in my safe at home- I mean, that way I don’t have to worry about hidden fees. And yea I run the risk of getting robbed, but its never happened to me before. Any advice on a trustworthy bank, or should I just opt for a savings?
