what is a good gun to get for protection?
i want a small handgun, something i can keep in a gun safe at home for personal protection… i am active duty military so i know how to shoot but the only guns i have ever used are a 9mm and an m16, and since i obviously can’t have an m16 i was wondering if a 9mm would be a good choice, or are there better alternatives? i’m an average-sized female so i want something that has power but won’t knock me on my ass if i have to use it… any suggestions? also, where would be a good place to buy one in california? i have heard pawn shops, but i’m not sure if i would trust one from there to work, plus i have never actually seen one in a pawn shop… any advice would be appreciated!!
I would recommend a Smith and Wesson .38 special revolver. A revolver will not jam up on you like a semi automatic will. .38 special is a good load for home protection because it has plenty of stopping power, but not enough velocity to penetrate a wall and hit a bystander. Smith and Wesson’s are very accurate and have a very smooth trigger pull.
