is going to mexico safe right now?
i know in certain parts like juarez its not but what i will be doing is flying from san francisco to mexico city where my fiancee will meet me and we will be taking a 4 hour bus ride to the town of salvatierra where i will be for 2 weeks then be returning home. so r these places ok or what? please help! i dont know any other way to get him up here and we cant wait for a green card. thank you,
If you are not staying in DF then I would say the roads to Salvatierra and the town itself are safe enough. From what I have read the closest state that has seen a lot of Gang activity is Morelia, home to the Familia Cartel.
Mexico has never been what I would call safe. 41 years ago I knew that after one look at all the steel bars on all the windows and doors. Anyone that says it is safe is living in a fantasy world and suffers from “Tunnel Vision”
You only have to take certain precautions to increase your safety and that would be the reason for all the Steel Bars.
I spent some time in Acapulco last winter and everyone I spoke to has had some type of altercation such as being robbed. I have asked the same question of Mexicans and they all had a tale to tell. Thank God the percentage of Good God fearing Mexicans is very high.
I read and speak Spanish and the 2 months I was there I saw Nothing. There were 600 murders and always extremely graphic front pages.
