West Palm Beach used car drivers are often teens; Toyota working to make them better drivers

An interesting but highly useful collaboration between Toyota Motor Corp and Discovery Education, an offspring of the Discovery Channel, is making the world a safer place for teen drivers, and therefore for every other driver too.  The two corporations have teamed up and started the website “Toyota Teen Driver” (http://toyotateendriver.discoveryeducation.com/).  The goal is to help educators, parents and students alike understand the dangers that can be associated with teen driving, as well as offer tips for all parties involved to make the transition easier, safer and less stressful for all.

The website is interactive, informative and unique.  Toyota and Discovery Education have done a superb job in making the site a fun place for teens to learn, while still remaining navigable for those parents and educators who are less familiar and comfortable with the world wide web.  Read up below about the different pages of the website and then check it out.  The website no doubt has something to teach all drivers, no matter how long you’ve been driving and regardless of how pristine your driving record is.

Educators:

The Educator section of the website supplies teachers with resources to aid in educating teens not only about actual driving techniques, but also about the responsibility of people’s lives they are taking on as soon as they get behind the wheel of a vehicle.  Educating a teen driver on the seriousness of possessing a driver’s license can be a tough job.  Learning to drive should not be a frightening experience, but it is important for teens to understand the potential for serious accidents.  To help, Toyota and Discovery Education provide educators with quizzes, lesson plans and take-home activities.

Parents:

Being the parent of a teenager learning to drive can cause continuous loss of sleep.  It is a scary time, and the makers of the website are clearly sympathetic to this fact.  Thus, the website offers tips and strategies that will help make the role of parent easier during the learning process.  Specifically, the website helps with ways to set up guidelines that both you and your teen driver can and will want to agree too.  The website also asks parents to asses the different roles they must play while helping their child learn to drive, and offers ways to form to these roles more easily.

Students:

Finally, the Toyota and Discovery Education website is a great resource for teens learning to drive.  It offers an interactive section for students to test their driving IQ, as well as quizzes that do the same.  Also, it offers financial tools that help teens pay for their first vehicle, or budget for car expenses like gas, insurance and maintenance.  Finally, and perhaps most importantly, the website offers tips to teens to help them talk with their parents about driving rules and even suggests for parents and teens to come up with a mutual driving agreement.  The only thing the site doesn’t comment on is how to coax a parent into a dealership of West Palm Beach used cars. Sorry teens.

Once parents, students and educators have worked together to mold a new, responsible teen driver, a new vehicle will be needed for the teen drivers in West Palm Beach.  Used cars are a popular choice for new drivers thanks to their low price tags and cheap repair bills.  There are many dealerships in West Palm Beach where used car inventories are large, so finding a cheap, safe and appealing vehicle will be a quick and painless process.  Thanks to Toyota, Discovery Education and West Palm Beach used car dealerships, learning to drive doesn’t have to be a painful process for anyone involved!
