Why will my new thermostat not work the air cond. but the heat works fine.?
My old honeywell thermostat wouldn’t work when switched the heat on. So I replaced it with a new Hunter thermostat and now the heat works but the air conditoner won’t or the manual fan. wired as R to R, G to G, Y to Y, red wire to rh, black wire to rc. disconected black wire for now just to be safe.
Rh AND Rc PROBABLY NEED TO GET JUMPERED TOGETHER. THE RED TO THE UNIT THEN WILL TAKE CARE OF BOTH HEAT AND COOL.
I DON’T KNOW WHAT THAT BLACK ONE IS. WHERE DOES IT GO? AT ANY RATE-READ THOSE INSTRUCTIONS THAT CAME WITH IT. I DON’T KNOW IF YOU’VE GOT A HEAT PUMP, SOLAR OR WHAT. READ THE INSTRUCTIONS THAT FIT YOUR SITUATION.
