2006 Toyota Rav4 Side Impact Crash Test?

My mom currently owns a 2006 Toyota Rav4 with NO side airbags. The NHTSA gave this model five stars yet the IIHS gave this model a “poor” rating. Which one of these tests should I go by and since these results are polar opposites what would really happen in the event a T-Bone style collision happened with this car. I know side airbags are important but a good structure can also help in the event of a side impact. If this car isn’t safe I’m trading it in for a car with sideairbags. Thanks
