Great Orange county cities for small children?

Hi, all.

I currently live in Inland empire and want to move to Orange County for my child to go to a better school. I know that Irvine is one of those cities with GREAT schools but wonder what other cities there are in Orange county that has good schools.

I would like a neighborhood with lots of kids to play outside (safe neighborhood) since my daughter is an only child and don’t get to play much with other kids outside of school. I’m thinking Condos because there are a lot more kids nearby that could play outside whereas a house (which I’m living in now) only has a few neighbors in walking distance.

I thought all Orange county cities had good schools but I found out that is not the case. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks.

You are correct about not all parts of Orange County being equal. Your best bet for finding great schools for you child is to stay in “south county” which is the area south of an imaginary line running from Newport Beach inland to Tustin Ranch. The beach cities and “country club” areas in the Saddleback foothills are going to be the most expensive, and likely to have young children with older parents and nannies. I would recommend that you focus your search in Tustin Ranch, Foothill Ranch, Aliso Viejo, Mission Viejo (not too much in Mission Hills), Laguna. Be kind of careful in San Juan Capistrano and San Clemente as all schools within those cities are not created equal.

Hope this helps, and good luck with your move.
