Driving to new york city from binghamton,ny(upstate)where can i park and ride into the city?

Me and my friends are going to the city for the macys thanksgiving day parade. We live in upstate new york in binghamton.Normally its about a 3 to 3 1/2 hour drive. But id like to park my car somewhere safe outside of the city(somewhere along the way)and get a train into the city?I need to know this by tomorrow so please answer!Best and quickest answer gets the 10 points.Just please advise along the route of ny-17 or 81 i can park and get a train, also please let me know about how long it takes on the train and how much each round trip ticket costs.

Many years ago, there was a commuter service that offered parking in a lot just off the New Jersey Turnpike west of the Lincoln Tunnel, and transportation into the city by bus for a fixed daily fee. Don’t know if that option is still available.

If I were doing it today, I would probably park at one of the commuter rail stations north of the City – Poughkeepsie is northernmost option, but there are several options in Westchester County that are closer to the city. Pick a station that is served by MetroNorth rail service (into Grand Central) rather than Amtrak (Penn Station).
