subway safety?
Ok, so I want to move to philadelphia, but in doing so, I will have to get rid of my car because it’s too expensive. The area I will most likely be moving to won’t be all too great, or is far from center city, i.e. (south phili, northern liberties.) So, the idea is that I will be riding the L back and fourth from center city and where I live. The problem is, unlike New York, phili is not all that safe in most areas, and public transportation after a certain hour is not that smart of an idea. However, I have only ever taken the L during the day and in the evening. If anyone lives there, and has been doing this with no problem, it would relieve my paranoia immensely! So all in all, is it safe to ride the L at 11:00 pm in philadelphia?
I agree, however during the late night hours when either Market Franford Line or Broad St Subway Line trains does not operate, their shuttle bus will take over for subways stopping near corresponding SEPTA Subway stations.
