How can I afford a home in CT?
I live in Connecticut. I moved here from Florida 10 years ago after I joined the Navy. I got out of the Navy last year and stayed here because my g/f lives here and I can see myself marrying her some day.
The cost of living, taxes, everything is very expensive here. It’s unbelievable how much just an average, decent home costs. I am renting in Milford now for $1000 a month. I dont have much to put down really for a home so I am saving. I make 60k a year. It seems my price range for a home is only about 200k, which believe it or not, doesnt get you much here. All I want is to be in a safe, clean, quiet area. Im not looking for a mansion. Something decent sized.
Ive seen that one already. To me though, 200k should be able to get you more than 800 square foot. That is awfully small. My apartment now is about 900 square foot. I couldnt imagine going smaller, especially for that much money.
