Like most cities it has it’s good parts and bad parts. Overall it’s one of the safer cities of it’s size…. beautiful too. Lots of pretty country around it (Smokey Mountain National Park is close). I’m not sure where you are now so it’s hard to give you a good comparison as far as ‘safe’ goes. Compared to NYC, Baltimore, Philidelphia, Detroit, Cleveland, etc, etc it’s TOTALLY safe.
