Blow-the movie about a cocaine importer,George Jung?
Okay. In this movie, they manage to get loads of money that they can’t even keep in their house.
So they save it in a swiss bank account.
Later in the movie when they try to retrieve it, the manager apologized saying something about their money being gone (?). Bottom line is they can’t get the money.
Why is that?
I thought money is supposed to be safe in bank
eventhough cocaine money.

the money was not in a Swiss bank account, but in a caribbean bank account (or central america, I can’t remember). But in the U.S., money is safe in banks (to the extent that it is not proceeds of illegal activity. If it is, the government can seize it, which is why Jung put it in another country).
The other country had a revolution of some sort, and the new government that took over seized all property within its borders, including funds in the bank account.
