my front drivers side door latch on my Ford Focus 2003 is stuck and as a result I can’t close the door. HELP!?
upon arriving at my kid’s daycare this morning I got out of the car and left it running while getting my son out. It is blistering cold right now (quebec weather) and felt it safer to leave it running. When I went to close the drivers side door it would not lock. The latch is down but whether I use the key or the automatic lock it still will not budge.I had to drive home while holding onto the door to make sure that it wouldn’t open further while driving. Nothing seems to want to make it open. Any help would be appreciated
Call the local Ford dealer and give them your VIN number. Recall number 05S27 is related to the door latch corrosion problem on the Focus, and it may solve your concern free of charge to you. They will install weatherstripping on the rear doors to prevent water entry and freezing in cold temperatures and apply lube to all the door latches to prevent sticking. Call and see if your vehicle is part of the recall.
