The safest parts in Queens are Forest Hills, Bayside, Glen Oaks, Maspeth, parts of Flushing, Douglaston, Little Neck, and Rego Park.
They have decent schools and decent shopping but these areas are not cheap. Even with the recession, prices for a two bedroom condo is now about $450,000 as a minimum.
Remember, there is no absolute safe place on this planet. These areas are relatively safer than the slums or housing projects.
