Can I get my daughters halloween candy checked somewhere?
I read in a parents magazine, or somewhere online awhile back, that sometimes local police stations will check to make sure that your childs halloween candy is safe. I live in Saint Louis city, does anyone know if this is true? If so, where can I go to have that done?
Call your local police department’s non-emergency number and ask them if they offer such a service. I’ve read a couple of different articles about halloween candy tampering being just an urban legend and I have never known anyone to have been victim to such a thing. I advise taking your daughter to houses that you know and then when she gets home, go through her candy under a bright light – better to see broken wrappers. If you’re so worried – “trade” her candy in for some that you bought from the store.
