Safes Squat Shoes
Is it safe for me to start lifting?
I am 16 years old, 5’6″, 125 lb. I play varsity basketball for my high school team. My dad is 5’10″ with size 10 shoes. I have size 11 shoes. He was a soccer player in high school and college and never lifted weights, and was a little shorter than I am at my age. I’m no doctor, but I think this would mean I have 4″-6″ of growing left. I do pushups and that stuff, but since I can do close to 100, it becomes more of an endurance workout.
I found a deal on a bench press with a squat rack. If I were to purchase it, would I put myself in risk of not growing. I would do most upper body workouts in sets of 12, but my main focus would be explosive lower body workouts (deadlift jumps, squats, cleans, hangs, jerks) to improve my vertical and explosiveness. So am I at a risk of delaying or potentially stunting my growth, because I fear if I don’t get to 5’10″ to taller, I won’t be able to play college ball.
I get u what u mean I am ur height where ur shoes size and play basketball and i lift weight …lifting those not effect ur height at all …u can still lift and u will get taller its mostly on genetics to tell how tall u get if ur 5’6 u would probably be abut 5’10 to 6’1 at the most
