How do I sell a product?
Ok I have this idea for a product I want to sell in stores (wall-mart, superstore, safe-way, co-op). Its a Drink, but how do I get started? Seriously who do I talk to? What is my first step?
Ok thanks! So should I rent a factory? how am I going to make my product? I know I ask alot of questions but then that leads to testing, ingredients analysis etc.

I own a manufacturing company that makes a lock, (for garage doors) i tried going straing to the big companies who did not want to know at first.
So I started small go to independant retailer offer them the product on sale or return and once you start getting sales you can go to the big stores and tell them Yes its in Store and Yes it sells,
For the First 6 months I was selling my product at a loss. Just to get it out there. but now its in B&Q, Machine Mart, Screwfix and Tooled UP (big UK chain stores)
You must be aware thou if these big stores place an order it wont be for 1 or 2 pallets, It will be for truck loads which means you must have the infastructure in place to cope with this work load as late delivery often means penalty charges or even lost contracts.
Only approch the big companies when you are 100% sure you can handle the work load and can afford to buy / make the order
