Will going through airport security erase the files off of my flash drive?
Okay, so you know how you put your items into the box to be X-rayed. So if I put my USB flash drive and my Sandisk Sansa Mp3 Player (which uses a flash drive, not a hard drive), will the data on them be erased? I have heard stories about DVD-RW disks getting erased through airport security and I want to play it safe because there are some important documents on my drives, not to mention music.
You put your metal items into the box so that they will not be put through the metal detector and set it off. that’s all. they don’t X-ray them, so you’re fine.
