how do you rate microsoft security essentials?
I have downloaded free Microsoft SecurityEssentials, is it enought to keep my computer safe.
No anti-virus is 100% safe, as malware writers also have access to these programs and their definitions.
So when malware writers write their code, they make sure it gets past the anti-virus software.
Some anti-virus software is much better than others, if your looking for the best in actual tests and willing to pay, then I’m sure you can find such programs on a anti-malware review website.
There is also paid software like DeepFreeze, which “freezes” your entire hard drive so upon a reboot it’s back to exactly the same state as it was before. You can have areas that are “thawed” for user files, thus any malware on them stays put. If you need to make OS and program updates, a special password is used to turn off DeepFreeze until your finished.
The benefit to Microsoft Security Essentials is not only that it’s free, that it’s from the same source as the operating system so there should be less conflicts when the operating system is changed.
