Sentry Safes Saved Us a lot of Hassle and Expense

In my case, having a Sentry Safes home safe has proven to be one of the best things I’ve ever purchased.
Robberies and break-ins are, unfortunately, more common than we would like to admit in this country. And, nobody thinks it will happen to them. But when it does, having a Sentry safe can really save you a lot of hassle, not to mention privacy and expense. We had been gone to the Oregon coast for a few days and when we got home we found that we had been robbed. Before we had left we went through our normal paranoia about locking windows and doors, we made sure the pets were squared away, and we left hoping for the best. When we got home a week later we were stunned to discover that our back door had been pried open and our things ransacked. Mostly, it was just a huge mess. Our stereo and a few knickknacks had been stolen, but our trusty safe was still there. Luckily, we had only just recently purchased it and had it securely bolted to the floor.
I’m obviously not happy that our home was broken into, but I would have loved to see the look on the thief’s face when he tried to lift our safe. It was all scratched up and dented from where the bad guy had tried to get into it. But it held up! I can’t even imagine what a hassle it would have been if the documents inside had been stolen. We keep our passports, car titles, insurance papers, our will, a couple credit cards, some family photos, and a few pieces of jewelry in there. Had the thief gotten away with his evil plan, our life could have been turned upside down in a real hurry.
Let me tell you about our safe. We purchased the Fire-Safe Electronic safe from Sentry safes. It has a couple of adjustable shelves inside with a file rack. It is a solid heavy steel safe that is ETL and UL certified for one hour of protection in fire up to 1700 degrees fahrenheit. It is water resistant and tough. It has a metal handle and 7 bolts to keep the door secure. The lock is electronic and has a backlit keypad with customizable code for entry. It weighs a whopping 200+ pounds and has about 2 cubic feet of storage inside. As I mentioned, this thing bolts to the floor. I can’t emphasize enough what a great feature this is. If I hadn’t bolted it down, the thief may have been able to haul it off. When we first bought the safe, we thought our main need was for fire protection, but it turned out to actually be against theft.
I can enthusiastically endorse Sentry Safes to anyone needing a great home security product. I will be forever grateful that I had secured my valuables in a good safe.
