Sentry Safes Security Safe
My key-only sentry safe won’t open, how can i open it?
no idea what model it is, i got it in 2008 and i’ve only ever opened it once to put my birth certificate and social security card in there… now i need to get those things out and it won’t budge. yes i have the key, but you’re suppose to press a little gray release type button to open it and i’m not getting anywhere.
First, spray it with WD-40, let it penetrate, jiggle the button. If the key turns, great, if not, spray powdered or liquid graphite in there, run the key in and out a few times and try it again.
If these don’t work, a locksmith. I’m assuming that getting duplicates of your doc’s is not an option.
One final note, tapping it lightly with a hammer while you try the mechanism couldn’t hurt anything but the finish.
