Small Fingerprint Safes
What should I do ??????
OK I need some advice. I recently was offered a job with the NYS Office of Mental Health in the security dept. I have gone through 2 years of background checks, waiting periods, fingerprinting,FBI investigations, reference checks, ect, ect, ect. Yes finally I have gotten a job offer. Here is my situation,
I am currently employed with a small global communications company making good money. I have been here for 7 years. I work crappy hours (Overnights) and have no 401K or retirement. Business has been slowly declining since the recent US economy crisis.
My new position will start me at less money but will offer me better hours,NYSCOPBA (Officers union) membership, state pension after 20 years of service, room for advancement and great pay (More than x2 of what I am making now) after 7 years.
I heard Emergency personnel positions are safer than most other jobs out there and as a union member they protect my job.
Can anyone think of a reason I should turn this opportunity down?
After being in Law Enforcement for over 24 years – I have seen the cycle of applicants – that range from love of the job – hearts all in it in good economic times to the current situation of job security and benefits are the number one reason to get in.
Truthfully – I have seen great success stories and Great careers come from both situations. The truth of the matter is that regardless of economic times, most people come to this profession because of love for the job – although economy may be the final nudge for the individual.
If your hearts in it – take the job. The pension and benefits are good – and retiring before 50 yoa is an awesome perk!
Find Out If the Biovault 2.0 Biometric Gun Safe for You?
Biovalut 2.0 Biometric Gun Safe
The Biovalut 2.0 biometric gun safe is relatively small and is manufactured by Sequiam. It offers security, easy access yet is well constructed and light weight, which is a far cry from the big, heavy safes of old.
As the name implies, it is a biometric or fingerprint gun safe. This means you just touch the sensor with your finger and it will open – assuming, of course, that you are allowed access to the contents. So, no lock that can be picked, no keys to find, and no codes, nor combinations to remember, especially when you are trying to open the safe quickly, and perhaps, excitedly. As is described below, no external computer is needed to run the biometrics. All power to run and operate is self contained.
Getting access to the contents is accomplished simply by storing your fingerprints in the chip which keeps the necessary information. Thereafter, after you touch the sensor, it will compare the information it reads with what is stored in the memory. If it is a match you are in.
Now you can allow others access to the safe too. The safe will hold up to 50 different fingerprints, so you can program your fingerprints a number of times and then add others as needed or desired.
The Biovault 2.0 biometric gun safe can hold a few hand guns and because of its biometric lock, has the ability to open very quickly without having to remember a code, combination of get a key. Now you can store more than handguns in this safe. You can store anything that fits, namely, jewelry, ammo, important papers, rare or valuable possessions.
Now here are some specifics on the Biovault 2.0 gun safe:
* The safe is uses 3 D batteries to supply the power. An AC / DC adapter can also be used.
* A flash memory keeps your data (fingerprints) safe if the batteries ever die or the power goes off.
* The doors are spring loaded so when the right fingerprint is input, the doors will “spring” open in a few seconds.
* It has a LCD digital display.
* The safe is made from a very heavy, durable and strong material.
* The measurements of this compact and sturdy safe measure 12 1/2″wide, 17 3/4″ long and 6″deep.
Although there are many good things about this safe, including an endorsement by the NRA firearms safety program, the reviews on Amazon are not very good.
As with many things, there are some good reviews by people who like their safe quite a bit, and in this case, many who do not like the safe or the technical support. The price of the Biovault 2,0 is also quite high compared to many of the other biometric gun safes on the market.
So the bottom line is to research this Biovault 2.0 biometric gun safe before you buy. Compare it to others and if possible, try to test one before buying. There are many wonderful and great things about this safe, but honestly, there are those who have experienced problems with it.
