Where in Panama would be a good place to open a small beach-themed bar and also buy a small home?
After a great deal of saving and planning I’m starting to research where I should start looking in terms of location for a bar. I’m a Canadian and plan on purchasing a space for a bar somewhere with a lot of foot traffic and a good vibe. Also looking for some ideas on where to look for some reasonably priced homes in safe areas with main conveniences. Thanks to anyone who can help.
I have two suggestions for you.
1. Pedasi. It is a growing area at the end of the Azuero Peninsula. It has been “discovered” so you won’t have an end of the earth feeling and it does have a laid back vibe. But it is not totally built up and they now have air line service.
2. Santa Clara. The beach at Santa Clara is one of the better ones on the Pacific coast. It is about an hour’s drive from the city and heavily visited on the weekends. There are several hotel/resorts in the area, so it would have the foot traffic you seek.
As for reasonably priced homes…that is a question only your budget can really answer. As people move into the area, prices have gone up. Between the two, I think there is not a lot of price difference, but maybe Pedasi would be less as it is a four-five hour drive from the city.
