What is the area like? Is it considered a safer area to live? How long of a commute would it be to Uptown, off of St. Charles??
its a pretty area. its on the westbank. so you would cross the river or take the ferry. since your going uptown then you would take the bridge because the ferry would put you out of the way. you just take the mississippi river bridge and follow the exit signs. its is a very safe area, hardly every hear about that side of town. its considered new orleans even through its across the river almost into the next parish. i would say the commute would take you maybe 30 minutes if you leave early, just because so many people live across the river now, traffic is terrible. so you have to leave early. pre-katrina it probaly would have taken (me at least i don’t know about everyone else) about 15 minutes. there is a picture of the historic area of algiers point on wikipedia
