Where to live in greater Boston area?
My husband and I are relocating to Boston in the summer. We want to buy a house outside of Boston, some place close to the commuter rail. My cousin lives in Storrs, CT so we want to be close to her but also close enough to not have too long of a commute (an hour and a half would be acceptable…we are from LA and so long commutes do not bother us much). Does anyone know a safe area where we could live and purchase a house for around $250,000?
qualifiers: I know we could not buy IN Boston. Would like to take train in and remain as close to cousin as possible. However, Storrs is 2 hours away driving and therefore impossible. Also, not looking for a giant house. Just don’t want to throw money away with rent.
