WHAT LIES BEYOND THE STARRY SKIES
Chapter 1: THE MYSTERIOUS WATCH
I am Sam. it was winter I had gone out for a vacation with my parents to Bombay. I was born here in kolkata. We all had a lot of fun over there. But who would think that this was the end of all fun. After one week of holiday I again went back to school. It was the first period. A man from our school office came and gave me a parcel. I kept it under my desk. After the first period ended I slowly opened the parcel and saw that there was a watch in it along with a letter in it. I opened the letter and it was written:
To Sam,
Please wear this watch immediately now you must be thinking who I am and why I gave you this watch. The answer is I am a friend of yours. This is as much as you will know for now. But you can contact me whenever you want or wherever you want by pressing the red button .on the side of your watch. You can even find people around you by voice command. And so for now, good bye. And I bid you adieu.
So I thought that he was joking and threw the letter into the dustbin. Then I saw that there was another letter and I opened it in it was written:
Hey why did you throw the letter did you think I was joking kiddo. Be serious!!!!!!!!
Then I was a bit scared and wore the watch. The second period started and as it was about the end everything became dark, and I fell down and felt my body falling against the cold surface.
Then, when my eyes opened I saw that the teacher and all the students were standing still looking at me angrily and so I thought that that I must have done something wrong. That is why I got up and told “sorry! Madam”, but she did not respond and neither did the students. I was feeling very scared. I spoke softly and tensed “is everybody joking with me”. Tears nearly came out and I shouted out “WHERE IS EVERYBODY?”
Then suddenly the watch I was wearing started beeping and I saw that it was scanning the whole place.
CHAPTER 2: THE VISITOR FROM NEARBY
I looked at the radar it showed a green spot somewhere nearby. I then went out of the classroom and saw that the green spot was getting closer to me. Next I saw that it was just behind me.
I felt something on my shoulder. I slowly turned back and saw that it was my friend Ashton. And I was very happy to see him. He also was wearing and watch just like mine only the colour was different. We were so pleased to see each other that we nearly cried.
Then suddenly our watches started gleaming and there was a holographic picture of a man on our watches. He said “you boys listen carefully; there is a car outside your school. Just get into it and the driver will take you to the airport. There will be some people over there that will bring you to our base in Switzerland. There will be two more people who are wearing these watches, over there. You guys will have to work together. TRUST ME”. Before we could ask any thing he was gone or rather his hologram was gone.
Trusting him we went out of school and there was a hummer standing right outside our school. He was a very muscular person standing outside the car in a black suit, just like the men in black. He opened the door for us to go in. we went in and while he was driving us to the airport we saw that all the people were still just like a statue. He drove us to our houses and we changed our clothes.
When we reached the airport there were some people standing there just as the man had said. They asked us to board the super fast jet which was standing on the runway.
CHAPTER 3: RENDEVOUS WITH THE BASE AND ITS PAST
We entered the plane and inside it was the man whom we saw in the hologram. He asked to take a seat and had something very important to show.
He took a torch like thing pressed a black switch on it. Aqua blue light started glowing. We could see an upgrade type of lab and our only expression was “what the hell is that?” then we asked him his name. He said his name was Ladilac krstic. We giggled when we heard his name. He was looking very serious and he told us in a very funny accent “nooo time to zhoke”.
Ladilac told us what was happening all around the world. He said that the base that we could see in the hologram was built in the early1700′s. This was built to communicate with the organisms or living species of outer worlds. Some of them were good but most of them bad. He said that ulbaterians were the most dangerous and they were doing all this. Life had become difficult on anthracition as the atmosphere was depleting. But the atmosphere on earth was suitable for them to live they wanted to leave their planet and occupy ours. That is why they have placed a machine that makes the molecular activity of living organisms on earth slow and slowly they all will die.
We told “you guys are so advanced in technology so why didn’t you stop it”, he said that the base was built by them and they have locked it from inside and only they know how to unlock it. He also said that mankind would have only 48 hours before extinction.
We asked him why we were unaffected. He said that they had built a watch that could make the molecular activity normal if such a machine was built and used.
Then we asked believing whatever he said “WHY US”, to this he answered that our great grandfathers were members of this organisation which was known as sector99. And we were the only people they could trust at the moment. A woman came and told “the plane has landed”
We came down and saw two 16 year old boys standing. We asked krstic who they were, he said their great grand parents were also connected to the base. I went and asked the boys what their names were. Their names were Erich and the boy’s name was Gordon. I also asked them if they believed what these people were telling. Erich said “yes!” And Gordon said “I am still skeptic”.
Then we entered. It was a very darkly lit room. We went further inside, and there was a very big metal vault door. Krstic put his palm on the scanner and it glowed green. Then slowly the vault door opened. Inside it was huge and there were computers every where. There were hundreds of people there and the place inside was as huge as a city. In the middle there was a huge globe type glass ball. They took us even inside to a nicely lit room. The room was full of portraits of our great grand parents, and people shaking the hand of some aliens. We asked them why they came to earth to destroy everything even after having such a good relation with us. Ladilac told us that they have come to earth to absorb all energy sources and make this their native planet. They came here because we had destroyed their home planet while doing on of our experiments. We looked at our watches it was past midnight now we had only 24 hours to save the planet. He then gave us a suit. It looked quite like a space suite. Krstic told us that it save us from all alien attacks. All we had to do was destroy their energy harvesting machine and everything would be back to normal. The aliens would be destroyed without the energy. So we planned to sneak in when they opened the door to bring out the machine. Everything went just as planned. But as everyone says there is always some flaw or mistake. Even we made one. While running towards the machine one of them saw us. We all were scared by its appearance. There was something in its eyes something shining that was pulling us towards it. Somehow Ashton was unaffected by its eyes and he hit it. He told us to run and we came back into consciousness and started running.
The last chance to save humanity
We reached the humongous machine. We had got only one chance at it. The only chance to save humanity was in our hands. One useful thing that we had learnt was that these aliens were allergic to peppermint dust. And we all had a box of extra strong Swiss mints. So all the way inside their filthy laboratory we went on throwing the mints and stamping them into powder to stay somewhat safe. But as all stories have some problem or difficulty before the happy ending even ours had one. While we were trying to stop the machine suddenly Gordon vanished. We looked all around and saw that he was unconscious and the aliens were pulling him towards them. We were going to run after him. But in a fraction of a second the ulbaterians vanished into thin air with Gordon. Erich started shouting. We tried to make him shut his mouth but he had already made the other ulbaterians conscious and alarmed about where we were hiding. Erich was stopping the aliens while Ashton and I opened our laptops and hacked into the mainframe system of the machine and uploaded a highly hazardous virus.
The virus was very effective in a minute it shutdown all its electrical supplies as well as the machine. It was totally dark.
The most miserable thing
We switched our night goggles in. we started running. This was the run for life. Ladilac contacted us and asked us to come back to the base. But we went on running towards their ship to find Gordon. Though we had known Gordon for only a day we had to save him. We had become very good friends. It was very dark and ominous inside. There was very pungent smell inside. We had a tracker on him. We went on following his tracker. Finally we had reached him. We switched on our torches. Just we looked up. Erich closed his eyes and threw his gun from his hands at me. We saw that Gordon was hanging from the ceiling. And he had half transformed into an ulbaterian. He whispered to us “run away from here as quick as you can”. Ashton replied that we would not go without him.
We cut him down and were running back towards the gate. While going I saw a room and slipped into it. I had started to understand their technology and I understood that the place where I was standing was their control room. I saw that there was a self destruct button over there. I quickly pressed, and then strange markings appeared on the screen. I recognized these markings as Mayan markings for time. Presently the screen was showing that there was five minute until total annihilation and wipe out of the ship and the whole place.
All of us were just going to get out of the place, when some of these ugly ulbaterians saw us and were running towards us. They were running towards us. Ashton and I had learned kung fu and sword fighting for some years. We had swords in the back of our suits. We took those out and ran towards them; we sliced their heads off and ran for the gate. We somehow got out and closed the gate. All of them were trying to break out.
The total wipe-out
I looked at my watch and saw the count down timer hit deadline. Just then there was a huge noise and an explosion. We were thrown towards the sky and landed on the open field far away due to the impact of the explosion. Our suits saved us. But now they were totally destroyed so we came out of it. And we slowly walked towards the base.
The final journey
Inside the base all of us were made to lie down on stretchers and were taken inside different chambers. There they treated our injuries. They gave us anaesthesia and I felt very drowsy and fell asleep. When I woke up I saw that all of us were lying down in the same room. Slowly all of us woke up and we saw that Gordon was back to normal again. We all smiled at each other and grinned. It was a smile and a sigh of relief. The ceiling was made of transparent glass and we laid down there staring into the starry skies. After some time Ladilac came to us and told us that it was time for us to go home. Ashton and I packed our things and got ready. We were going to open the watches just then krstic came and asked us to keep it. He said that he would keep contacting us and we were now official members and agents of SECTOR 99. We all were very happy then he gave us our membership card.

Ashton and I went inside the private the privet jet and waved goodbye to Erich, Gordon and Ladilac as our plane took off. We reached our house in no time. The pilot asked me to go inside change clothes and go to bed. He said that everything would be normal.
Next morning when I woke up I thought that all of the events that had taken place were only a bad dream. But it wasn’t as I still had the watch and the card with me. My parents seemed remember nothing. We were having holidays for a month and this when I had written this strange story. When I went to school I saw Ashton and both of us were wearing the watch. That day during the break we both were playing and our watches started blinking. We went to the toilet and pressed the button on the watch and Ladilac appeared. He said “hello boyz! How are you all doing? I have a new mission for you. Are you all interested? Erich and Gordon are also coming” and our answer was “OF COURSE KRSTIC”.
And this is how our adventures continued.
